Who We Are

Linda Bennett founded Gold Leaf in 2001 to provide market research and business development work for publishing, librarianship and related industries. The Gold Leaf team is now four strong and includes Annika Bennett, James Bennett and
Brigitte Shull.  

Linda, Annika and Brigitte work extensively with publishers, librarians and research communities in the USA, UK, mainland Europe, India and the Far East. James is an editor and copy-editor for several learned journals and offers freelance editing skills.

Linda Bennett

Founder. Formerly Business Development Director at Waterstones and director of two library supply companies. Spent three years as MBA Course Director at the University of Huddersfield. Visiting research fellow at several UK universities. Experienced in business development, market research, industry report construction, setting up and conducting advisory boards and user groups, bespoke seminar development, cross-industry liaison projects, newsletter provision, special projects, etc. Has worked especially but not exclusively in areas of electronic publishing.

Jim Bennett

Joined Gold Leaf in September 2012. Experienced copyeditor and proofreader. Provides coaching and tuition for academic authors in how to write articles for journals. Experienced newsletter and magazine editor.

Annika Bennett

Joined Gold Leaf in March 2014. Formerly Head of E-Book Sales at Taylor & Francis. Previously to that Sales Manager (Online Products) at Oxford University Press and PCG. Specialities include all projects relating to e-books. Experienced in seminar provision and some types of market research. Bilingual (native language is German). Extensive knowledge of the German market.

Brigitte Shull

Joined Gold Leaf in June 2023. Her consulting and project expertise includes strategy development and implementation, open research transformation, digital product development and product management, editorial development, author services, and change management. Services range from competitive analysis and qualitative user/customer research through to strategy session facilitation and detailed go-to market product plans. She has held management and editorial positions at Cambridge University Press & Assessment, Springer Nature, Palgrave Macmillan, and Pearson Education in both the higher education and scholarly publishing spaces.
