Webinar – Libraries as Engines of Education

21 May 2026, 15.00-16.30 CET
(2pm-3.30pm BST)

Webinar hosted by Gold Leaf, sponsored by De Gruyter Brill

Technological breakthroughs mean that content can now be delivered in multiple formats and through many channels. Consequently, there has been a radical change to how primary and secondary education is delivered. The student profile has also changed: today’s adult students can have reached any stage in their lives and may be working or have other responsibilities. The traditional approaches to teaching and learning at tertiary level are therefore no longer appropriate and new teaching methods demand new skills. Jenny McGarvey, Digital Lead in the Skills Study Team at the University of Exeter, and Jane Hammons, Head of Teaching and Learning at the Library of Ohio State University, describe their work in this vital area.

Speakers are:

Jane Hammons, Head of Teaching and Learning, University of Ohio State University, USA.

Jenny McGarvey, Digital Lead in the Skills Study Team, University of Exeter, UK.

The webinar is sponsored by De Gruyter Brill and will be moderated by Linda Bennett of Gold Leaf. Registration is free of charge.
